DORIS DAY – $7.4 MILLION, CARMEL VALLEY, CALIFORNIA

Doris Day was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 3, 1922. In 1939, she started her career as a singer. By 1967, Day had recorded over 650 songs and achieved commercial success with two No.1 recordings. Day was lucky to begin her career with the film Romance on the High Seas during the Golden Age of Hollywood and finally achieved one of the biggest film stars in the 1950s.

In 1981, she made a wise investment deal and bought the 11-acre farm in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The estate is perfect for her since it has an overlooking view of the Pacific Ocean. She lived in that estate, along with her pets and adopted animals. After all, she’s considered one of the top advocates of animal rights. She’s the figure behind an animal foundation, called Doris Day Animal Foundation.
